Each month, NACHS Board members respond to many calls to help animals that are ill, injured, or in danger. They work with local law enforcement officers and citizens to give help wherever needed and are on call twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
NACHS responded to the following recent calls:
February, 2012:
1. Puppy locked inside of car for several hours in front of city business. Car opened by NPD and puppy taken to veterinarian for treatment of dehydration, then moved to shelter.
2. Dog chained to tree with no shelter in heavy rain. Owner advised by ACSO to provide shelter and NACHS to recheck.
3. Hound dog running in and out of Walgreens - picked up and taken to shelter.
January, 2012:
1. Fox having a seizure
2. Dogs in poor condition
3. Poisoned dog (rat poison)
4. 2 vicious dogs (Pit Bulls)
5. Dog that had been shot (treated at local veterinarian office and now ready for adoption)
