Apricot Poodle  "Molly Hope"

"Molly Hope" is a one year old spayed female apricot colored Miniature Poodle.  She was in very poor condition on arrival to NACHS and was further diagnosed with Demodex, a type of mange mite that is fairly common in pups and young dogs.  Usually you just see little areas of hair loss and the skin does not look angry or ulcerated.  It is NOT contagious, we all have this mite on our bodies, but in a healthy animal our immune system keeps it from causing problems.  We see problems most often in young dogs because their immune system is not strong enough to protect them fully (and in Molly Hope's situation she was very compromised by starvation.)   She has had many treatments for the Demodex and they continue.   With the care and love she has received at her foster home, she is on her way back to a body full of hair.  The treatment is fairly straight forward.  You can purchase Advantage Muti from any of your local vet clinics and it should be applied once a month for the rest of her life.  Advantage Multi will protect her from heartworms and other worms as well.  "Molly Hope" gets along with big dogs, little dogs, cats, and she loves kids.  She is being kennel trained along with potty trained at her foster home.  Molly Hope is a sweet and loving little dog that needs her forever home.  Please contact us by calling the shelter at (601)442-4001 or be emailing us at natchezpetadoptions@gmail.com to schedule an appointment to meet this nice little dog.
